So you're a homemaker. What book tops your homemaking list? Or maybe you have a homemaker in your life. What book would you give them? Until now, I didn't have a top pick. A book on biblical womanhood in the home? A book of household tips? A book on time management? They've all helped me, but more often they leave me feeling guilt-ridden and defeated. What I really want is a book about the gospel. A book that shows the gospel peeping out of my overstocked pantry. A book that gives me grace when my kids won't stop arguing. A book that frees me to be hospitable, smudged walls and all. Gloria Furman has written just that book: Glimpses of Grace. malrin. co. What a weird transition. Not to mention that I spent an entire week off from work in a city that is so unreal, it hardly seems as though any of it happened. But. of course, it did. Blame it on the weather.
Clyde posts a picture of a glass gazing ball he painted with a lovely Hibiscus flower. The pattern is form the Japanese book A new Approach to Tatting by Yusai Shokoin. It was done for an exchange and Jon's partner thought it was like a bit of sunshine. What a beauty!Carol took an old crochet doily idea and reproduced it in tatting. A Key Largo man was arrested Saturday, charged with attempting to pry a change machine off the wall in the laundry room at Largo RV Park Friday night. He was caught on surveillance video using some type of pry bar to pry the change machine in the laundry room off of the wall. During the process, he caused extensive damage to both the machine and the concrete wall. When he was unsuccessful at removing or opening the machine, he rode the bike away from the scene. Deputy Ben Elmore and Sgt. Jason Madnick responded to a report by an employee who found the damage Saturday morning. They knew about a homeless camp in the nearby wooded area and went there to see if they could identify any possible suspects. They found it unoccupied, but found a bike that looked exactly like the one ridden by the suspect in the video. They returned later and found a man at the camp who said Prior had borrowed the bike Friday night at about the same time the burglary took place. A good size to stick around your neighborhood. Great for skateboards and notebooks. Some members of my family have really cool souvenirs. Did anyone go to Cinemagic's opening night film, Russian film, "The Banishment"? There was a really cool crowd there - quite diverse. I'm just wondering what other people thought of the film. It was my first time there and I didn't know what to expect. I will definately go back - very cool. They serve refreshments, but there is also a concession stand downstairs. I noticed people brought their own food from fast food places and other people smoked. I just don't understand how they are getting away with it as anything that promotes thought here is illegal. I have noticed that my creative juices sometimes flow. sometimes ebb. Can't, it seems, have the flow without the old ebb.
So.this is a blog and should be, as has been pointed out by my closest of friends, updated. Anyway, I have a sinus infection, the Goob's having sinus migraines, we're both drugged to the eyeballs, and Sekhmet's been eating my ice cream. Then it rained blood and the space pirates attacked and a plague of locusts came through and ate all my wool. Or something. Sorry. Green snot makes me a bit existentialist. Soon I'll be starting more Zen Sweater yarn. Yay?Normal blogging to resume when I can find my brain. The celebration of Santa Águeda is here again. This is a special day for the ladies of the village which starts in the bar with breakfast. As you can see from the photo above there was a good turnout. Breakfast consisted of a hearty jamón bocadillo. In the afternoon there was the service in the church. this Sunday I can give you some insight into that. Perhaps you noticed something different at Mass today. Did you notice something placed at the foot of the altar? These are relics of various saints!A “relic” is part of the saint’s body—such as a piece of a bone. Right after Jesus came back from the dead, people began facing persecution for following the Lord, and it wasn’t long before the governmentstarted killing people for believing Jesus is Lord. They killed St. James the Apostle within a few years. St. Peter and St. Paul were both executed, in Rome. Hey guys. I added a new player to the sidelines section of the brflines site this morning.
