Defined by four triangular faces, the tetrahedron is the simplest of all polyhedra. Any four points in space that are not in the same plane mark its corners. Part of the visual appeal of these constructions is that a tetrahedron is so angular that its aspect can change abruptly as a viewer moves around to see it from different angles. His large, angular sculptures take advantage of the tetrahedron's amazing rigidity and its ability to resist an incredible amount of force from the outside. "I can't think of anything more perfect than a tetrahedron," Fredenthal once remarked. If visitors came from outer space, "I'd hand them a tetrahedron, and they would understand.
Kneeling stick-figure Flute Player, McElmo Canyon, Colorado. In a number of instances the figure consists of a simple humanoid portrayal with a strange backward bend to the legs, playing a flute that they hold with both hands. These unique images are found in the vicinity of The Kelley Place, in McElmo Canyon, Montezuma County, Colorado. This area was populated in Pueblo III times by individual farm and small farming settlements. The rock art imagery is relatively crude, showing no signs of the kind of technical skill that is acquired by specialists through long practice. This suggests that they images were made by non-artists, basically regular people, the residential population, instead of more practiced and sophisticated specialists. Last night's live class project, hope you like it! I had so much fun with all of you! To buy this kit please visit. One of the songs that has stuck with over the past ten years is Phish's Farmhouse. I used to dance to it with my old Golden Retriever Murray in my parents kitchen. Last night while falling asleep next to Gibson I started singing it to him. I don't know if he sleeps there out of habit or solidarity, but it is nice. I was upset from the past week.
So I started whispering to my little black dog the lyrics I sang to dogs before him.His tail thumped as I scratched his ears. We have cluster flies, alas, and this time of the year is bad. We are so very sorry there is little we can do but swat them. Gibson has this ability to seem almost human in his interaction. I'm experimenting with some paper-pieced zig zags for a postcard swap. I wanted to replicate my modern zig zag quilt that was made with half square triangles. The first attempt, on the right, was paper-pieced in rows, with all the same seam lines as HSTs. I've been paper-piecing long enough to know that I didn't need so many seams! Plan B is on the left. Much better! It is flatter, and you can see more of the designer fabrics. It will be quilted, trimmed and backed later today. Julia's block for the Girl Scout Troop quilt is on the design wall. Each girl designed or chose her own block to piece. Thanks to Amazon, I managed to pick one up recently for nearly half price and thought that seeing one in the flesh would finally put my mind to rest on the matter! On its arrival, I was a bit disappointed as it was packed between two flimsy pieces of cardboard in a plastic bag, with only paper for padding in the box. .
